Unlike you I don't usually go around boasting about that on the internet though. I have a bachelors in computer science and I was a manager of an internet data center for 5 years at one point. So this bug will never be figured out and never be fixed, thanks to you.Īnd for your information I've built just as many computers as you have IRL and I've been custom building computers for others so far for 25 years. But apparently you know everything about computers, and apparently you know every single possible thing about the PCBS game. I thought maybe if we could look at your save together and collectively figure out exactly what's going on there then we could submit a bug report and get it fixed. I said what you're experiencing in the game shouldn't be possible, with the current build of the game. Originally posted by david:LOL! So you're basically saying I don't know how to read OCCT and 3dmark as they test?I never said that nor did I infer that what so ever. Can you post a copy of your save online with like dropbox or something and I'll take a look at it? Maybe I can help you pinpoint what's causing this. I have never yet heard of anyone reporting a CPU not throttling in OCCT yet still throttles in 3dmark though. So your chip most likely probably is throttling some how and you just haven't found out how or what's causing it. Temperature is the only possible thing that can cause cpu throttling at the moment in PCBS. And if it's throttling, it's hitting 95c. Right now with PCBS, if the CPU score is reduced that low after a 3dmark run then it's throttling. I'm not trying to say you're wrong, it's just extremely unlikely of a scenario, almost impossible given how this game is coded currently. :) You're the first one to report any issue like this since the game first came to steam over a year ago. I've also seen times where I adjust GPU little by little, and the OCCT doesn't work at all - I can run sliders to the max and it doesn't adjust temps. Nothing else can cause this - if RAM or something else was wrong it would BSOD. I lower OC via bus and core slightly and it works correctly. I'm on my 3rd time through the game and it has happened several times. The CPU is NOT throttling, but the score indicates that it has. No way to prove you're wrong but you are. Originally posted by david:I just said I ran system info along with 3dmark - always do. It's a bit harder to know how close it is with adequate liquid cooling where the actual temp doesn't go above 75 degrees C or so. With air cooling it's easy to see when the CPU is close to throttling down due to temps. But then the final score for CPU is around 100, which indicates it has throttled down. The 1st portion (CPU portion) runs correctly with no throttling down at for example 52.3 FPS. Then I run system info and 3dmark immediately after, no reboot. What I mean is that OCCT runs for several minutes and CPU is not throttling. I'm not saying that doesn't happen but it's not what I'm talking about and I haven't experienced it. I try to "cold boot" computers once before turning them in myself. Sometimes computers stop calculating thermals/throttling correctly after some time of sitting there tweaking it. Originally posted by Aquafawks:Sometimes (Rarely) there is still a bug in the game where if you have a computer on a station running, and you're rebooting it a lot, overclocking it a lot and just repeat and repeat and repeat this, that at the end and after a while it may appear to be not throttling and everything fine but you may find out if you completely "Exit" the computer tower and turn it off "complete cold shut down, not just reboot" so you're walking around in the "shop" a bit then go back to it and boot it again, suddenly it throttles.
